Welcome to the New ASSU Website!

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the brand new ASSU website. This website was built by Crossroads Collective, we’re a 3 man freelance web dev company and we’re all students here at U of T. We encourage you to take a look around at the new site, and then stay tuned to the website for new news postings as well as events in the new events calendar!

We hope you like the site.
Thanks,

NEW Online Course Evaluations

Please remember to fill out your course evaluations online. You will receive an email in your UTOR mailbox – this is your only link to the online evaluation system. The deadline to complete your evaluations is December 7th.

ASSU Writing Seminars – Cite Right: Citing and Writing for University Courses

Friday, November 16th from 1-3 p.m. – Cite Right: Citing and Writing for University Courses
So many sources, so little time! How do you find good sources and use them in your writing so you earn top marks and avoid plagiarizing? This session will give you strategies and tips for writing research papers, from summarizing and paraphrasing to using online citation builders that will save you time.

If you want to sign-up for either date, please email students.assu@utoronto.ca and indicate which one – there is only room for 60 students in each seminar.

Volunteer Tutors Wanted – Project: Universal Minds

ASSU runs a volunteer tutoring program where UofT students go to local high schools to tutor students in English, Maths and Sciences. These are students who really need the help and generally are not in a situation to pay for private tutoring. The commitment is 1 hour a week for the school year (until June). At the end of the program, each tutor will receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Dean of Arts & Science. If you are interested in applying, please visit our website (under Get Involved) or stop by our office for an application.

Attention students! As many of you know already, we have a fantastic test bank. The test bank is composed of tests that have been donated by students. This is a call for past term tests from the 2011-12 school year.  You can bring your tests to the ASSU office (room 1068 of Sidney Smith). Upon donating a test that we don’t have, your name will be entered into a draw for fantastic prizes in the form of gift certificates for Second Cup and Tim Hortons.
