Spring 2024 ASSU Election Candidate Statements

Here are the statements for candidates running in the 2024 Spring ASSU Elections. Candidates will be elected at the March ASSU Council meeting on March 22nd. There is one (1) position for President and four (4) positions for Executive available.

Statement on potential CUPE strike

The Arts and Science Students’ Union stands in solidarity with the education workers of CUPE 3902, library workers of CUPE 1230, and service workers of CUPE 3261 and their unified demands for respect, dignity, and a living wage. Together, these three locals represent more than 8,000 workers across the University of Toronto’s three campuses, including teaching assistants, caretakers, course instructors, postdoctoral fellows, cafeteria workers, and grounds workers.

Winter Break Office Closure

The ASSU office will be closed from December 18th to January 5th for the winter break.
We’ll be back open on Monday January 8th for our regular office hours.

Undergraduate Research Conference 2024: Call for Selections Committee

The seventh annual Undergraduate Research Conference is coming in early 2024, and we are looking for students to join our Selections Committee!

The Selections Committee for the Undergraduate Research Conference will be made up of Faculty and students, divided into sub-committees for each of the three Arts & Science streams: Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences. Each committee will consist of 4 students and 1 faculty professor. Please note that first priority will be given to undergraduate Arts & Science Students.

Arbor Journal: Call for Editors

The Arbor Journal of Undergraduate Research is the leading student-run academic journal for the arts and science, seeking to publish, highlight, and celebrate the best of undergraduate arts and science research at the University of Toronto.

We are currently looking to establish an Editorial Board for Volume No. 5 of Arbor. The Editorial Board of Arbor offers undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in the creation, design, and editorial supervision of an academic journal.
