The seventh annual Undergraduate Research Conference is coming in early 2024, and we are looking for students to join our Selections Committee!
The Selections Committee for the Undergraduate Research Conference will be made up of Faculty and students, divided into sub-committees for each of the three Arts & Science streams: Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences. Each committee will consist of 4 students and 1 faculty professor. Please note that first priority will be given to undergraduate Arts & Science Students.
The Committee’s main responsibility will be to review and evaluate abstract submissions related to their stream. All meetings will be held on online platforms. We will meet in October and November, for a total of approximately 5 meetings. Submissions will have to be fully reviewed and applicants must be selected by early December 2023. It is important that all members of the committee be present at all the URC Selections Committee meetings. There may also be other organizational tasks which Committee members will have an opportunity to partake in.
Strong candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent and efficient reading skills; strengths in critical thinking, and analytical skills; and an appreciation for teamwork, good time management, and leadership. This position requires significant and intensive time requirement at interval times during the specific months stated above. Candidates must ensure their availability and ability to work professionally and efficiently under time constraints.
