ASSU presents a screening of the acclaimed film Ivory Tower, a provocative documentary that looks at the state of post secondary education in the United States; student debt and the corporatization of education and asks “is college worth the cost?”
The film will be followed by a panel that will discuss post secondary education and its future in Canada and the United States. Siting on the panel will be:
– Two student organizers from Free Cooper Union (this movement is featured in the film)
– Former ASSE spokesperson and activist, Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois
– UTFA President Scott Prudham
– And former GSU Civics and Environment Commissioner, Ashleigh Ingle.
This event will be held at KP108, at the Multi Faith Centre lecture hall. Coffee will be provided and the building is accessible via the Bancroft entrance.
