Are you an English student? Do you want to have a more active role in planning social and academic events for other students studying English? Would you like to be more involved on campus in general? Then come and join the English Students’ Union Executive team!

This year we brought you English student swag, had an amazing turnout at our academic seminars and a super fun pub night (where lots of crazy stories were told!), and we’ve got a poetry night coming up as well. There are lots of great ideas and events we can plan for next year for everyone on campus, so why not be a part of it?

Any student enrolled in an English program (specialist, major or minor) is eligible to run for a position on the ESU. We ask that you fill out a nomination form with 10 signatures from students taking at least 0.5 FCE of ENG courses (for the Presidential position – 15 signatures of the same criteria). Please bring your completed nomination form to elections, which will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at 4:30 PM. Candidates will be asked to make a 2-3 minute speech detailing why they are suitable for the position (e.g. former experience on ESU, other campus activities/course unions, skills).

During this election candidates are welcome to run for the following positions:

Event Planner (2)
Communications Officers (2)
Mentorship Program Coordinator (2)
ESU-IDIOM Liaison (1)
Treasurer (1)

If you are not running for a position, please come out to be an active part of the voting community! Any student taking 0.5 FCE of ENG courses in the 2013-2014 (current) academic year is eligible to vote!

Food will also be available for ingestion at this event. We hope to see you there!
