2016-2017 ASSU Award Winners

The Arts and Science Students’ Union is extremely pleased to announce the winners of our 2016-2017 leadership awards.

This year we received a multitude of applications from a diverse and highly qualified group of students. The ASSU Scholarship committee, which is made up of representatives from our Executive, ASSU Council, and the Faculty of Arts and Science administration, debated for a long time before coming to their decisions.

The Scholarship committee passes on it’s thanks to all the applicants for making these decisions so difficult.

Congratulations to our award winners

The Arts and Science Students’ Union is pleased to announce the winners of our awards for 2016. Every year the Arts and Science Students’ Union highlights some of the dedicated students, faculty, and campus groups working on the St. George campus through our awards.

Award winners will be honoured at a reception co-hosted by Dean Cameron and The Arts and Science Students’ Union later this month.

The Ali Saeed Memorial Award

This year, ASSU will be introducing a new award for International Students. This award was established in memory of Ali Saeed (1992-2014) -an international student from Pakistan studying Political Science, who was a dedicated collaborator in the work ASSU did over the 2013-2014 academic year. He was a passionate photographer, student activist, and was highly respected by his peers and all who knew him.

Eligibility

  • International Student
  • Full-time Undergraduate in Arts and Science Registered on the St. George Campus
  • Campus Leadership and Extra-Curricular Involvement
  • In Second Year or Higher
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
